Melikşah Selvi built Mindstep as a free-to-download application supported by advertising. The app offers an optional non-consumable in-app purchase that permanently removes advertisements. The Service is intended for use as is.
This page is used to inform visitors regarding my policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use my Service.
If you choose to use my Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. Personal Information is used only for providing, maintaining, securing, and improving the Service. Information will not be used or shared except as described in this Privacy Policy.
The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
Mindstep processes only the information necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the app's features.
Step history, step goals, app preferences, and profile images are primarily stored locally on your device. If you voluntarily join the leaderboard feature, your step totals and account-related leaderboard information are transmitted to and stored using Firebase services so that daily, weekly, and monthly rankings can be calculated and displayed.
Leaderboards and Fitness Data
Participation in Mindstep leaderboards is optional. If you provide your consent and join the leaderboards, Mindstep processes your daily, weekly, and monthly step totals together with an account identifier and the profile information displayed on the leaderboard. This information is used only to provide leaderboard functionality and is not used for advertising, marketing, or cross-app tracking.
Other participating users may be able to view the profile information you choose to display, your step totals, and your position in daily, weekly, and monthly rankings. Your email address is not displayed to other users.
You may leave the leaderboards and withdraw your consent at any time through the app's settings. After leaving, your information will no longer be displayed on the leaderboards. Leaderboard data controlled by Mindstep will be deleted or de-identified when it is no longer necessary to provide the feature, subject to legitimate security, fraud-prevention, and legal retention requirements.
If you sign in to Mindstep, authentication-related information such as your account identifier and information necessary to authenticate your account may be processed using Firebase Authentication. Certain account-related information may also be stored using Firebase services where necessary to provide account functionality.
The app may use third-party services for authentication, analytics, crash reporting, and advertising. These services may process technical information such as device information, app activity, diagnostics, advertising identifiers, IP address, and other information necessary to provide their services, subject to their respective privacy policies.
Data Retention
Mindstep retains user data only for as long as necessary to provide the app's features and maintain your account.
Data stored locally on your device, including step history, step goals, preferences, and profile images, is retained until you delete your account, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app.
Account-related data stored through Firebase is retained while your account remains active. When you delete your Mindstep account, account-related data controlled by Mindstep is deleted as part of the account deletion process.
Data Deletion
You can delete your Mindstep account directly from within the app by going to:
Settings → Delete Account
When you delete your account:
- Account-related data controlled by Mindstep in Firebase, including leaderboard participation data and stored leaderboard step totals, is deleted or de-identified.
- Your Firebase Authentication account is deleted.
- Locally stored step history, step goals, preferences, and profile images are deleted.
If you cannot access the app or need assistance with deleting your account or associated data, you may submit a deletion request by contacting meliksahselvi.engineer@gmail.com .
Log Data
I want to inform you that whenever you use my Service, in a case of an error in the app I may collect data and information through third-party products on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing my Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, crash information, diagnostics, and other statistics.
Cookies
Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.
This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third-party code and libraries that use cookies or similar technologies to collect information and improve their services. You may have options to manage these technologies depending on your device and the applicable third-party service.
In-App Purchases
Mindstep offers an optional non-consumable in-app purchase that permanently removes advertisements. Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store or by Google through Google Play. Mindstep does not receive or store your full payment card or bank account details.
Mindstep uses RevenueCat to validate purchases, prevent fraud, restore purchases, provide purchased features, and analyze purchase performance. RevenueCat may process purchase history, store receipts or purchase tokens, transaction status, an app user identifier, and limited technical information necessary to provide these services.
Purchase records may also be retained by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat according to their respective legal obligations and privacy policies. Deleting your Mindstep account does not delete transaction records that Apple or Google is legally required to retain.
Service Providers
I may employ third-party companies and services due to the following reasons:
- To facilitate the Service;
- To provide certain features on our behalf;
- To perform Service-related services;
- To provide authentication and account functionality;
- To provide analytics and crash reporting;
- To provide advertising services; or
- To assist us in analyzing how the Service is used.
- Firebase, for authentication, account storage, and leaderboard functionality;
- RevenueCat, for purchase validation, entitlement management, purchase restoration, and purchase analytics;
- Apple App Store and Google Play, for processing in-app purchases;
These third-party service providers may have access to information necessary to perform the tasks assigned to them. Their collection, processing, retention, and use of information are also subject to their own privacy policies and applicable legal obligations.
Security
I value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and I cannot guarantee its absolute security.

This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by me. Therefore, I strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. I have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Children’s Privacy
I do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. I encourage all children to never submit personally identifiable information through the Application and/or Services without permission from a parent or legal guardian. I encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children's Internet usage and to help enforce this Policy.
If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personally identifiable information to us through the Application and/or Services, please contact us so appropriate action can be taken.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Changes will be made available by posting the updated Privacy Policy on this page.
